Attending the course will provide the participants with the pertinent skills and knowledge, empowering them to:
- Understand the crisis management planning methodology.
- Assemble the crisis management team members.
- Assess the risk and threats such as riots, supply chain disruptions and product recalls.
- Learn to track and trace incident events and prioritize decisions and activities.
- Link crisis communications within and outside of the organization.
- Have a clear view of the command and control within the command centres.
- Coordinate with external agencies and local authorities.
- Test and exercise the crisis management plan.
- Manage the crisis management together with other plans such as BC and DR.

CM-400 is a 2 module advanced level Crisis Management (CM) course with an additional of 3 and 1/2 hour 150-Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) based examination, following the successful completion of the course.
It is primarily designed and developed to instil detailed concepts and knowledge in CM/BCM practitioners, which will enable the individual to drive CM programmes and projects for the entire organisation. This course is structured to develop and train Organization BCM Coordinator, CM/BC managers, planners, and project managers.
NOTE: It is a pre-requisite for participants to complete the CM-300: Crisis Management Implementer course before enrolling for the CM-400 Crisis Management Manager / Expert Implementer course.

Participants would be eligible to apply for the Crisis Management Certified Expert (CMCE) Certification once they complete all modules (M1 - M4), pass the CMCE qualifying examination with a required passing score of at least 75% out of 150 multiple choice questions (MCQ) and submit the certification application form.

Module 1: This Crisis Management Fundamentals package is ideal for a practitioner of crisis management who requires fundamental knowledge of the end to end process of developing a crisis management plan for the organisation and to maintain the plan once it has been implemented. Busy professionals will find this course useful as the training is conducted online learning and can be completed over a period of time. It will take them through modules on:
Participants would be awarded the Crisis Management Certified Planner (CMCP) Certification once they complete all 8 modules and attain an assessment score of at least 75%. Module 2: In this module, it aims to provide the student with the knowledge to identify and categorise different types of crises through risk assessment techniques. This forms a foundation of the crisis management process. To enhance the learning experience, students will have the opportunity to work through a risk assessment template and present their work in class. Common crisis strategies will be shared with students, and concepts will be reinforced using provided templates, discussions and presentations. Module 2 will also provide an overview of the contents of a crisis management plan, and how students can go about documenting the plan based on the crisis strategies developed earlier. Various components of the CM plan are discussed, along with the emphasis on several key emergency procedures and SOPs. |

Module 3: Estimated Duration: 4 hr Facilitated by an industry practitioner, the first 2-hour session would concentrate on the management aspects of a crisis management project, crisis risk analysis (CRA), crisis strategy (CS) and crisis management plan (CMP). Participants are free to ask and seek clarifications during the online training with the facilitator on hand. The second 2-hour session would be facilitated training on managing testing and exercising, business continuity programme as well as an introduction on crisis communication as well as the fundamentals in crisis command centre setup. Module 4: Estimated Duration: 4 hr The first 1-1/2 hour workshop session would need them to be part of a facilitated online training session. Facilitated by an industry practitioner and armed with the pre-reading knowledge, this session would need participants to design and develop a walkthrough and tabletop exercise as well as complete a management presentation for CRA, CMS and CM Plan report presentation. |
